A colorful, accessible step-by-step presentation and handling guide for Ledger Live — login, setup, safety and best handling practices.
This presentation explains how to login to Ledger® Live, get started with your Ledger hardware wallet, and practice correct handling and safety. It is written for first-time users and for people who want a refresher. The focus is clarity, practical steps, and safety-first handling.
Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile app for managing your hardware wallet and crypto assets. It provides account overview, transaction history, sending, receiving, and safe firmware updates.
Only use the official Ledger website to download Ledger Live. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Ledger Support will never ask for your 24-word recovery phrase.
When available, check the provider signatures or checksums on the download page. Ledger publishes guidance; follow it to avoid compromised installers.
Select "Get Started" then choose whether you are setting up a new device or restoring an existing one. If you are new, choose "Set up a new device" and follow onscreen prompts.
The device will ask you to choose a PIN and then display a recovery phrase. Write the phrase down on the supplied recovery sheet. Confirm the phrase when prompted. Never store it electronically.
In Ledger Live, choose "Accounts" -> "Add account". Select the cryptocurrency and follow prompts. Ledger Live will query the blockchain to display balances and transaction history associated with your hardware wallet addresses.
You can add many accounts for the same or different cryptocurrencies. Ledger Live keeps them organized and lets you label them for easier handling.
To receive, open the Receive flow in Ledger Live and verify the address on your device screen. Only use addresses shown on your hardware device — do not trust addresses pasted or sent by third parties without verification.
When sending, carefully review the recipient address, amount, and fees. Confirm the transaction details on the Ledger device display before approving.
Treat your recovery phrase as the single most sensitive secret. Do not photograph, copy into cloud storage, email, or type it on a computer. Preferably store it in two geographically separated physical copies.
Try another USB port or cable, reboot your computer, and ensure Ledger Live is up to date. If that fails, consult official support resources and knowledge base articles.
If you forget the PIN, you can recover accounts using your recovery phrase on the same or new Ledger hardware. This restores access but requires the 24-word phrase.
Ledger Live provides a secure environment to manage crypto when paired with proper hardware handling and seed protection. Follow the steps: prepare, download Ledger Live, set up the device, verify addresses, and keep your recovery phrase offline and secure.
